Delegate and Shell employee Siddarth Maheshwhari’s photo’s and story and motivation to attend the OYW summit.
As a volunteer I am currently working with Shell India CSR head on the theme of access to energy. I have done market research for various NGOS and companies to help Shell India develop the strategy for access to energy theme. As a part of this activity we have gone into the details of transforming a village with no electricity to a village with complete electrification with solar micro grids and develop sustainable living conditions for community and providing education material for kids. - I have been a part of '3 people' Shell contingent on a climate change expedition to Antarctica with 2041 organization lead by Sir Robert Swan. As a responsible alumni, I have decided to take 5 immediate action to live sustainable lifestyle and influence my family and friends to follow the same. Also, we have pledged to preserve Antarctica by supporting Antarctica treaty in 2041 when renegotiated.
During One Young World summit I look forward to get motivated from the like- minded people to bring a change in the world. Being from India, I see my country as a land of opportunities where 69% of rural India still uses traditional biomass and wood fuels as cooking fuel. Hence, personally, access to energy is the theme I am really keen to work in future. I would like to develop my network through this summit and would like to learn new ideas that I can bring back to India and implement them.
