Malek is originally from Syria, After having to flee to the Netherlands, he founded a non-profit organisation (Samen Met Syriërs) in Nijmegen. Created to offer integration in every best and effective form into the Dutch society. Through organising regular cultural activities and various events to empower the dynamic process of integration. He also instructs/facilitates teaching sessions for refugees in coding and programming at HackYourFuture in Amsterdam. He believes that those sessions are passing the knowledge which will make refugees available for the job market and enable them to make a difference and add value to society by unleashing their creativity and talent. Malek, also developed an employee centric website of the Global Diversity and Inclusion department at Shell, and currently working at Apple's Education department. He sees his impact as creating an inclusive society where diversity is embraced and everyone contributes to a sustainable and a better world.
His expectations from OYW Summit 2018: “I await in keen interest to get inspired by other projects, as well as to be able to contribute to make the world a better place.”
